Sports Card Collection Inventory & Valuation

Sports card value is set by grade, not by name. PROVENANCE records grading company, grade, and population, then applies the official grade multiplier to live eBay sold and Heritage comps, so a PSA 10 is tracked at roughly 3.4 times a PSA 8 of the same card.

What moves the price of a card

Across the sports cards market four variables decide most of the price: grade, population report, centring and eye appeal, grading company. PROVENANCE records each of them at the item level so a valuation carries its reasoning with it.

01

Grade

Grade is the dominant variable. The step from PSA 8 to PSA 10 frequently triples the price of the same card.

02

Population report

Cards with fewer higher-graded examples hold value better through soft markets.

03

Centring and eye appeal

Two cards at the same grade can differ materially in price on centring alone.

04

Grading company

PSA, SGC, and BGS candles trade at different levels for identical cards.

Catalog template

The fields recorded on every card

The sports cards template asks for 7 specialist fields instead of a generic title-and-value box, so every entry carries the detail an appraiser or a buyer will ask for.
